In March 1965 Lotus presented in Cheshunt the Type 38 showcar that in the month of May ( with a different livery ) will race, and will win the 500 Miles of Indianapolis. The Lotus Type 38 won with Jim Clark, this was the first victory at 500 Miles of a rear engine car and since 1965 no front engine car would ever won.
